Today there will be a quiz covering the syllabus, Mieke Bal's introduction, and Marie-Laure Ryan's "Introduction" to Avatars of Story.

Ryan's introduction sets up the thread of focusing on media and mediation that we will be following throughout the semester.

Note on the quiz: The author of the highest scoring tinyStory (as of Thursday afternoon) will receive full credit on the quiz. I don't often give opportunities like this, so go write one, and don't forget to vote up ones you like!
