well, this really doesn't have too much to do with what we have been talking about in class but a friend and i stumbled across this the other day after we were shown that picture of the dancing girl in class. this is an audio illusion, pretty much the same concept, but way different. i hope you think it is as cool as we did.
that day, we spent a majority of class talking about those optical illusions that cause people to look at the same picture and see two totally different images. this concept really intrigues me. i am a self proclaimed realist, relativity is really not something that i tend to agree with, i usually think that something is what it is and not something else, which, in every case, is true. what intrigues me about these images so much is that whether you see a duck or a rabbit, an old hag or a young lady, every single interpretation is correct. each person, depending on how they think, how they have been raised, and their preconceived notions about the image see something different. this does not mean that they can't see both sides, for me atleast, it's relatively easy to see the old lady, and then take a step back and see the young lady, but that is what is so fascinating about that type of art.
